Woodlands
Robbins Lumber’s Forestry department owns and manages approximately 30,000 acres of Woodlands and Christmas Tree Plantations. Our goals are to grow White Pine, Oak, Spruce, and Birch while merchandizing each tree cut to its maximum value. The low value trees and tops are chipped for boiler fuel, which supplies Robbins Lumber with all its energy needs, both power and heat. But, more importantly, the low value trees are cut to allow natural regeneration of the valuable species. Planting averages 30,000 pine trees plus 15,000 Christmas trees per year. There are approximately 150,000 Christmas trees on the plantations today.
