Constructed in 1991, this 100’ x 400’ Warehouse is the Inventory Control center. With a capacity of 3 million board feet of dressed lumber, Robbins is ready to fill orders immediately upon demand. The trucks are all loaded under-cover to protect the product.
The Warehouse center is connected to the computer system, which is updated minute by minute for constant monitoring of the three to six million board feet of inventory. This activity includes production from the mills, commitments from salesmen, and shipments to internal customers and external customers. All inventory activity is monitored through the use of bar-coded tags and radio frequency scanners. It is not uncommon for our forklift drivers to handle 1,000,000 board feet of lumber in a day. This system helps track the entire process from the logs to the lumber shipped.
