Traveling at 712 feet per minute, a thickness measurement is taken and the entire board is scanned by two cameras.  This information is transmitted to the computer where specific board sizes are preprogrammed. Instantly the computer sets the saws to obtain optimum yield from each board.  We process 9,000-10,000 boards through the edger-optimizer each day

The two trimmer-grader stations are the final process in the Sawmill. The boards are trimmed to length, then graded and sorted into one of 69 different sorts.  The stations each process an average of 24 boards per minute or 14,000 boards per day

The traveling stackers stack the lifts of lumber for further process into the kilns and planer mills

The dip tank is used seasonally to chemically protect the lumber from blue stain. If left untreated, the lumber value would be significantly reduced, since the value of  White Pine is based on appearance more than strength
