Powerhouse
The Industrial Boiler uses 100 tons of hog fuel per
day. The Robbins Lumber Chipping Crew selectively cuts on Robbins land and
produces over 90% of the required fuel. The Dump Station raises the
trailers over forty feet in the air, and empties the fuel onto the Walking
Floor. From here, fuel goes on the incline chain to the auger that
distributes it in the 1,000 ton capacity Fuel House. It is loaded by
forklift into the boiler feed system. The Boiler is a 1000 hp unit and
produces 34,000 pounds of steam per hour. The Steam Turbine is connected
to a Westinghouse 1250 KW generator. The Caterpillar Diesel Electric
Generator is a 1500 HP unit that generates 1000 KW and uses approximately 50
gallons of #2 diesel oil per hour. The total generating plant output is 2.25
MW--1.25 from the Turbine and 1.00 from the Cat. Total Robbins
Lumber mill demand is 2.5 MW.

condenser and is recycled at 1000 gallons per minute.
