Milling
In 1993, Robbins Lumber installed a Weining Super 30G 10 head moulder to finish
lumber in our new planer mill. In 1997 we added a new WACO Maxi moulder. All of
our lumber is processed through moulders because we want a superior finish, and
the flexibility to do double face patterns in one pass. The higher knife speed
results in less knot tear, reducing sanding time furniture manufacturers. We
manufacture our own knifes and have the capability to reproduce old profiles or
to create custom new ones.
Grading
All of our lumber, in addition to being graded in the
rough, is then graded after the moulders by NeLMA-sertified graders. We
encourage all our mill employees to learn grade, so the lumber can be checked
down the line, even to the individuals stacking the units. We have instituted
the ISO 9001-2000 quality program at Robbins that is directly linked to customer
complaints.
Labeling
At Robbins we were the first sawmill to utilize the
technology of inlinecomputerized inkjet printing. We can print on the end of a
board - a barcode, mill name, width and length, grade, NeLMA logo, date of
production, Sdry, Kdry, or HT. Our system even sprays the graders initials on
the end of the boards, allowing us to track our grader's performance. We can
also inkjet your company's logo on the end of every board.
