Cut-Up Shop
The Cut Up Shop uses 3 million board feet of shop grade lumber to produce wooden parts and pieces for novelty items, games, rat trap blanks, CD racks, etc. We produced over 1,000,000 rat trap blanks per year! These products are shipped all over the U. S. as far as California and Mexico. Some of the machinery that produces the Cut-Up stock include a Dimter Automated Chop Saw, a Weinig Moulder, edge gluer, wide belt sander; and the newest addition is a Challoner Double-End Tenoner which cuts profiles on the ends of boards. The workforce is year-round and averages 27-28 men and women. The Cut-Up Shop is critical to Robbins Lumber in that it has been able to increase the value of the low grade lumber into a more marketable product for the past 19 years.
