We make use of the entire log. The cut up shop
uses short pieces and lower grades to produce custom cut stock for novelty and
industrial applications.
By-products such as bark, sawdust, shavings and chips are marketed throughout
the eastern United States. Biomass is burned in the co-generation plant to
produce steam and electricity. Our co-generation plant is assured of a ten year
fuel supply coming from company-owned woodlands and logging operations within a
ten mile radius of the mill. The sawmill, dry kilns, planing mills, packaging/reman
center, cut up shop and warehouse are all integrated at our Searsmont, Maine
location, The result is better lumber at a competitive price.
We're also proud of our warehouse program that carries dressed lumber packaged
and ready to ship to anywhere in the world. Retailers and wholesalers have found
this warehouse among the greatest advantages of doing business with Robbins
Lumber, Inc.
